Is the "sophomore slump" a reality? In 2011, eight of the fourteen wide receivers who went in the first four rounds in the 2010 draft posted better numbers in 2011 than they did in 2010. While that doesn't look good, four of the receivers who did fall into the "sophomore slump" were Jacoby Ford (missed eight games in 2011), Jordan Shipley (tore his ACL in week 2), Mardy Gilyard (only caught six passes for 63 yards in his rookie season), and Taylor Price (three receptions for 41 yards in 2010 and two receptions for 39 yards in 2011). So when you take those four irrelevant players out, just two of the ten wide receivers taken in the first four rounds in 2010 went into a sophomore slump in 2011: Mike Williams and Emmanuel Sanders. Moore, a rookie in 2011 drafted in the fifth round out of the University of Tennessee, got his first opportunity to showcase his talent in Week 2 against the Bills as Darrius Heyward-Bey, Jacoby Ford and Louis Murphy all nursed injuries. With five catches for 146 yards and a spectacular touchdown grab (shown below), he certainly proved what kind of potential he has in the league.   Despite the Raiders not having a first round pick, they managed to find a gem in the late rounds with Moore. Moore was thought to be one of the best players on the field in training camp and pre-season for the Raiders...
